Iraqi Kurdistan is a region located in the north of Iraq. By its geographical position and its geopolitical situation this region has always lived under the tension of its neighbors who are Iran, Turkey, Syria and of course the rest of Iraq.

Iraq is a country made up mainly of Arabic gold, we are Kurds, for comparison the Kurdistan region of Iraq has a larger or smaller area than that of Occitania.

If we are present today in France and in Europe since the arrival of Saddam Hussein to power in 1979, the Kurds have always been badly led by his regime (burnt villages, deportees, establishment of concentration camps, etc ... ). The objective being to Arabize this region, Saddam Hussein could not succeed in his plan which was the extermination of the Kurdish people, for lack of time because the war with Iran began.

Unfortunately all is not finished for us and far from there with this man of the devil, indeed the worst is to come. Subsequently, 8 genocidal acts began, the first of which began on the night of February 22, 1987, followed by 8 other genocides in the space of 2 years which claimed more than 182,000 victims, so the last concerned the Bahdinan region.

The objective of this process is to launch a trial on this subject. To date, this genocidal act has been recognized by the Iraqi state, it has been 31 years since the first wave of Iraqi Kurds arrived in France as political refugees.

It is indeed the generation of our parents who suffered the most in this history, but it is up to us, their children, to demand that justice be done and that the Iraqi state compensate the victims of this genocide. We are within our most legitimate right. We know it will take a long time and the trial will be complex, but we are more determined and motivated than ever. Nothing can interfere with our approach.

We are of course also counting on your help. I am convinced that you will be sensitive to this approach by becoming a member of the AMVGK Support Committee.
